Issue topic 1:"Important truths begin as outrageous, or at least uncomfortable, attacks upon the accepted wisdom of the time."

"Important truths begin as outrageous, or at least uncomfortable, attacks upon the accepted wisdom of the time."

The quotation is about Important truths affecting the society at that time.
The society is guarded by rules and rules built by individuals, they are called
the elders, they get the right because of their experience, they act to what they see,
and they believe that its true, without sometimes analysing it otherwise,if "I can see it like the way it is,it must be true."Now if someone younger comes along to challenge their cherished beliefs citing that whats being followed by them for all those years is a mear fallacy and talks
about what is the truth, althought he might be perfectly right in stating so, seemlying is
said to assail the traditions and is castigated for the same.Truth does affect the elders no
matter how wrong they are or however important the truth may be.

To elucidate,I exemplify with what happened to two pristine men of science as we know them today.Galilio challenged the church citing that,"The earth moves around the sun, not the other way around",he was incriminated for this claim, just because he dared to challenge the church prelates who believed that earths the supreme power.
Huygen a fleging but diligent physict was rebuked by his contemporaries for this denial of the "Corpuscular Theory of Light" by the extremely eminent physict Sir Issac Newton. He was also chided for his claim of luminous ether in space, which he devised to support his wave theory of light. The scientists althought very clever themselves revered Newton to extent that
defying his principles would never cross their minds. How could they buy what a tyro was saying and they obviously took it as a personal affront to their research and credibility.

Now unlike then we know what the truth is and we have excepted it as we understood it,thanks to the intense research. The people at that time believed otherwise and therefore reacted negatively to something they did not understand.
This was something that happened centuries ago, therefore expecting the individuals to be open-minded to ideas seems ascinine.
Taking into consideration the world today before and after computerisation in almost all the fields. The field of Banking before computerisation, everthing was done manually, right from calculating the interest to analysing the balancesheets, typewriters ever
used to type letters, enters were made in a colossal book having entries of transactions from years together. All this changed once Computers came into the picture. The typewriters were replaced by PCs and printers, there was distributed database that
connected various offices together. But the older generation still sticks to the earlier means, they arent too comfortable to except that the computers are safer, neater and easier to use than doing everything manually. In this example the society was chary to except the truth rather than its downright castigation.

Every individual in the society believes in his traditions, faith, that the society inculcates into him and they are cherished to him no matter how chimerical they are.
If someone else contravenes his beliefs, his societies beliefs inadvertently abuses them, and the society at that time never takes it in a positive stride.

a simple note

U know when you re living this mediocre life full of nothingness you just wake up one day and say to yourself nows the time I have to make something of myself, I say that to myself every single day.
but I still keep slacking each and everyday, looking at myself in the mirror and saying one day I ll be something, make something of myself. Will that day ever come? where I shall stand in front of the mirror and say yeah I made it!.Is it too much to ask from myself.I guess I need to stop saying maybe and just go for it.Just see myself try it like theres not going to be a tommorow.Lets make everyday a spl day, some day to cherise and not just go living by it by saying 'maybe' I ll make it.
Theres no tommorow without a today.Life is not forever you know.....

Taare Zamin par

And I pretended there was something in my eye. Yesterday I went for a movie with couple of friends, Taare zamin par. The impact of the movie on my emotional side was immense. For all those who know me well will agree I don’t get sentimental atleast in the case of movies but this made me release I might have 6 tear glands than the regular 4.
The movie stars Darsheel Safari shown as a 8-9 year old boy named Eshaan Avasthi who has the problem to read and write. When he looks at his books the letters seem to dance, the things that he writes are actually mirror images of what he means. He’s misunderstood to be a dumb kid in this competitive world where writing byhearted answers gets you marks in your exam, he cant understand the way a normal kid can and hence hes termed abnormal. Nobody thought that maybe he was above it all. Maybe his level of thinking is no where compared to ours, only because his ways of learning and understanding are not conventional.
In this movie Eshaan Avasti suffers from Dyslexia, it’s a difficulty to read and write. This is usually misunderstood to be the childs mischief, laziness or dislike towards books. Now can a 9 yr old child like something he doesn’t understand or cannot associate with?. He likes painting in the movie that being his forte. He paints not what he sees but what he imagines. In the movie there is this pop math quiz in which the 1st question is 3*9 now in English its written as 3 into 9. Eshaan imagines that hes heading some space challenge and he has to put the earth(3) into Pluto(9) that retains earth and so his answer is 3. Eshaan doesn’t only face difficulty at school but also at home where his parents want him to be like his extraordinary elder brother who comes 1st in every subject in school. He even gets beaten up by the boys in his colony. The warm relationship between his mother and him touched my heart the most. His father too is a nice guy but is stern and worried about his sons future due to which he fails to recognize the problem his kid has. The brother Yohaan I must say is a very supportive boy who has his brothers back for anything. This scene when Eshaan bunks school and wanders the streets alone and begs his brother to write a sick leave note, Eshaan is shown very loyal as well when caught by his father,he doesn’t tell on his brother. After this fiasco his parents decide to send him to a boarding school in Panchgani. Eshaan begs and cries but his father makes his mind up, his concerned mother has no say and Eshaan is send away. The situation at this school isn’t any better to what he had faced in his old school. He gets punished and mocked at even here, only difference is he makes a friend Rajan Damodaran. Who tries to raise his confidence levels but after all the things Eshaan faces, the poor kid reaches his ever time low.
He has no confidence left in him and he cries out saying why me, why am I like this, why am I so dumb. The only thing to cheer him up, his parents also cant make it to meet him one weekend. The child is broken and keeps to himself, doesn’t talk, he even stops to do what he does best, paint. Then theres a source of inspiration in his life, a temporary art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh played by Aamir Khan. Nibumbh is a free spirited, jolly and fun loving man. Hes very good with children and teaches in a school for special children. Hes got an unconventional style of teaching. He communicates with children through song and dance. On his first day he asks the children to draw anything they wanted to unlike the old teacher. The children immediately click to his ways of teaching, but Eshaan does nothing. He by now has lost hope. Nikumb notices a few things about Eshaan that concern him, he looks through Eshaans books and recognizes a pattern of mistakes. He gets alarmed and reaches Bombay to tell Eshaans parents about the ordeal his sons been going through all this time. He explains the cause being dyslexia, his inability to do simple things that normal children can do at ease are really difficult for him. His father fails to understand this and thinks Nikumbh suggests that Eshaan is mentally retarded. Nikumbh the next day talks about all the dyslexic geniuses . Einstein, Picasso, Edison, Neil Diamond, and tells the class that even they suffered the difficulty to read and write and the rest was history. Eshaan now starts to believe that hes not alone, and that even hes capable of something. Later he revials to Eshaan that he himself had the same problem as a child. Nikumbh then starts teaching the boy to read and write right from the basic ABC… to math. Nikumbh believes that there lies a genius within this child, a creative genius. He polishes the rough diamond, and Eshaan now can read and write with Nikumbhs unconventional ways. Later that year Nikumb organizes an Art mela, where he invites all the teachers and students to come and paint. Eshaan wins the competition and his painting is printed as the front cover of the schools year book. At the end of the year his parents come to meet the school teachers and are surprised to see Eshaans progress. Not only does he win the competition but also does well at school.
All the movie puts forward in a simple way is that every child has his own capacity and level of thinking, he has his likes and dislikes, all the child needs is someone to polish him and set him in the right direction.
Overall the movie was more than just a movie, it touched my heart hope it touched yours too.

Fission

Fission an annual technical festival organised by the IEEE student body of PVPP, is a wonderful way to tickle that technical brain of yours, with various workshops and seminars you can get the basic information of any technical subject that we offer through experienced professionals.
Along with workshops we also offer you Robotics (wired and wireless) robo competitions and for all those interested in gaming can compete with the top gamers under one roof.
Ok now lets cut to the chase people, I am a TE student from PVPP been with Fission for the past 2 years and enjoyed every moment of it. Let it be the travelling with friends for Publicity to various colleges, or the nights we spent researching on topics for technical paper presentations or the trips to lamington road for black pearl (our wired robo) or even the shocks we recieved while we made it. After the strain of attending lectures, doing assignments, writting journals something that releaves you is working for the festival, as you get the satisfaction of working for something and the perks along with that which include certificates then theres also that socialising with your seniors and ofcourse the official reason with which you can bunk lectures without feeling guily for it.
Now for the FEs and SEs of my college, Fission being a technical fest you might not be interested as you might think it might be a drag but au contraire my friends its anyday better that working for a cultural fest one thing as it doesnt involve the college management(the so called sane people) having their own whimsical ideas on how a fest should be the students just like you and me organise this fest, so fresh ideas keep pouring with a new line of management altogether, that doesnt mean one will be cut slack but its just that you will be able to work with the future leaders who are rather flexible and inviting towards your interests and ideas.
Now talking about Fission '07 what makes it different is that it wont be big it wont be the best cant make big promises to you as I was in your place just a year back, but one thing we do promise is creativity from each and everyone of us , smartwork and fun. volunteeres will learn how to work with and under people(no pun intended) and how to think from various angles for 1 task, they will experience stuff that have never experienced especially when they go for sposorship, it might not be your best but no experience is ever a waste, the interactions that you shall have, the new people you shall meet, the new friends that you'll make and ofcourse last but not the least work with us your senior, peers, mentors, trendsetters blah blah blah.....

Ok now I need my juniors to visit this blog and post in comments and I want to see you all working your ass out for this festival
Peace out

Our Tipsy Trip

What do you call 3 days of Mazza Masti and Zol, well simply a gr8 time with the Prayag, adt, erch, shyam, arvind, hasnain and me, it all starts with a half ass plan we made about going to my farm house at talegaon this district close to Poona.
After contemplation about whether adts parents will be cool to send her with us the so called hooligans they agreed after I am preety sure adts convincing and manipulation of the truth.
On the 28th of June we booked 5 tickets with Paulo travels for Poona, I had a plan of getting down at sompatta and to trek it to my place but finally only shyam and arvind had the luxury to do so as my dad asked us girls to go by car with my dog fifa. So on the 29th of june it was me erch adt and fifa in my esteem off to talegaon, the car ride was fun too with the usual dumps due to the Bombay craters and adt combing her hair all the way and also obsessing about how sticky it gets on long drives and of course she was always on guard as my 40 kg dog was sitting beside her. Archana and me were happy eating the bhakadwadi we actually bought as chakna for our boozing session later that day, Prayag who was supposed to make it to talegaon with aren on his bike, had to settle without any pillion because of arens freak accident at lonavala a few days prior to which he gave a very comical and animated explanation. By the time we were half way to our destination Shyam and Arvind had made it to my house and had been settled in well, with vada pavs which by the way talegaon is very famous for. We reached around 2 pm threw our bags on the floor and grabbed a vada pav ourself, now we awaited prayag who as usual was running late. We had plans of covering lonavla and Poona by the 1st of july and return back on the same. After about an hour prayag was there, so now we began planning about what should be done that day. We all decided a trip to Poona at Furgesson College where we girls could go check out some Poona hunks the guys tagged along as well. After a long drive and also not knowing head or tail about how to make it to the place we managed to reach FC, where there were a line of the usual eateries ccd, subway etc like bombays cozway. Shyam and I desperately searched for a washroom whereas adt and erch went for some window shopping at weekenders where they also caught a refreshing site of a biker and damn I missed it. Teasing me about it all the way we reached subway where I ordered a chicken teriyaki, now for all those who know me well know that putting tomatoes in my sandwitch is a big no no. And you’ll also know how I get the manager to replace my food if it isn’t appropriate well yes I did that and I got a new sandwich. After satisfying our taste buds with solids we had to buy some liquids which made us go wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Archana and I settled with white mischief whereas prayag hasnain and shyam prefered romanof. After shopping for earrings, a belt, pair of chappals and a shirt we waited for the snacks to arrive chicken tikka and paneer tikka which took ages to be made, it was 11:30 by the time it was done. I wasn’t feeling all that confident to drive back home after I experienced the rashness and recklessness with which the punekaris drive. So prayag took the wheel and hasnain rode his pulsar. Now it took us hardly ½ hr to reach home where we prepared for our boozing session. We organized my booze balcony. Sitting there I had made a decision not to drink much as it was my house and if my watchman would tell my dad I would be screwed but as they say drinkers are never thinkers , I got talli because I drank at a very fast rate, in that intoxinated state I had a few statements which are gonna be very popular I am sure, the one that was recorded was ‘HELLLLO SHHHUTTUP’ and after all that mischief which wasn’t exactly white 3 of us barfed the chicken tikka, hasnain was completely under the influence as he fell and was later escorted to the room where he later barfed and slept in it which he cleaned later, surprisingly prayag spilled it out too luckily outside the balcony so the rains cleaned it up and for me it was inside, and adt and archana had to clean it up, thanks guys that ones on me. Anyway after the rampage as I passed out, the details to what happened later have to be asked to adt and erch and arvind. Shyam was constantly stuck up about the amount he drank and prayag the bartender doesn’t recollect what difference there was between 60 ml and 30 ml, told him a number. In the morning I had a very bad hangover as I kept puking but that day was very special for two of my closest friends, a very close relationship developed between these two which began with simple eye contact, after a little persistent Smiling and teasing it was revealed our very own Casanova Prayag had a thing for our shy and emotional, soft and tender Arvind. Guys don’t get me wrong but it was just for fun. Prayag was acting PRO-GAY. So as I was saying we were all busy either cleaning up or puking some more or just obsessing about maggie noodles, that day was fun as we played cards, now I ain’t that good at it but my amis are, especially aditee, arvind and prayag, left aside poker these guys talked about bluff, Gulam Chor, Rummi et al. So we played until dusk, when our stomachs began to do the wolfs AOOOOOOOO routine we decided to go to this veg restaurant called Kuldeep, for all the non veges had bad stomachs after the chicken tikka fiasco.
The hotel looked good, it had good crowd too but now again people that know me when I go into a restaurant I need the tables, plates, spoons everything to be clean, I requested the manager to clean the dirty table cloth as it consisted of mainly left overs of its prior occupants and oh yeah dead flies, the manager cleaned up the table and dusted the cloth but he refused to replace it. Abhi mera para chad gaya. I had to do some kiddas I told all my friends to drop their food deliberately on the table cloth so that the manager had no choice but to replace it, now people why do you think my blogs named “Born to balance the good”?. As usual Prayag and hasnain had 2 pavbhajis each, I had allo paratha which was finished by hasnain, adt had half a slice of paneer and sweared she’d never experiment with paneer at places outside Bombay and archana I think had little bit from all. So that was the day, oh no wait that wasn’t it there was something more that scared the shit outta us the movie we saw ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’ for all the people who have seen the movie ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX, well saying that alone gave us goosebumps, and so we didn’t sleep the entire night well actually the movie was just an excuse, we played cards the entire night, then adt, shyam and arvind went to sleep archana, prayag and me were making Maggie and discussing about prayags ladak trip right after talegaon, I don’t know when I fell asleep but adt woke me up in the morning by of course shaking me and then asking me if I was sleeping. It was the 1st of july people, and that was our day to go see lonavala and prayag and hasnain were gonna leave for Bombay in the afternoon, but there was another problem, my car had a flat tyre, so that delayed prayags trip as he help me replace it anyway after we bid our goodbyes he parted . After that shyam went and brushed his teeth, well it took him quiet a while but after that we were on our way to lonavala, we caught a train at talegaon stn at bout 1:49pm as we boarded the train I got a message from prayag saying don’t come to lonavala under any circumstances its all fucked up, after I read out this message adt wanted to get off but we coxed her to get back as we’d check out the situation just have lunch and make it back home and ofcourse mouth says something mind thinks something else.
We reached lonavala in an hours time and parked ourselves at Kumars Resort where we thankfully got the seat quickly, as we stormed through our lunch we made plans to go to bhushy dam and come back before sunset. As I had no car there we had to catch a rickshaw that fitted all five of us, ofcourse adt sat on someones lap. While climbing the slopes we noticed that there was heavy checking going on, so that’s what prayag was talking about. The policemen let the ricks go, on our way we saw many waterfalls with families having a gala time but our destination was bhushy. After we reached the dam, damn was it overflowing, water everywhere man. So we asked adt to stay back and arvind accompanied her, I think they went to the waterfalls later where they saw some drunks and made their way back to where we left them. Now Shyam, archie and I had a gala time getting to the dam. There was water uptil the knees and it was rising, we saw parents get small kids in,those senseless wackjobs. After struggling trough the strong currents we made it to the top and rested ourselves under the oh so cold water, we couldn’t believe that the amount we were shivering on our way to the dam, we felt absolutely numb now. We took a couple of pics after we got out of the place, we were now completely soaking there was water dripping from all possible places no pun intended. But we had a great time. On our way back I did something I never do, cross the tracks for the train, we then were hanging outside the train and ofcourse jumping along the train, after we reached talegaon station we realized that it was our last day here and so the girls excluding me decided to cook, I suggested my favorite puri bhajhi, we instructed bahadur to get the required raw materials and finally they asked him to make the food, damn lazy asses. We played cards until 7 am while adt fell asleep at 5, shyam didn’t allow us to sleep as he had to catch a bus at 8 am, but I fell asleep on the chair itself, actually that chair is a slumber hotspot I think prayag, archana and arvind had also fallen asleep on it. Anyway I woke up again because of adtiees shouting this time because my dog Fifa had crawled into bed beside her, after our so called sleep we had jam and bread for breakfast as we waited for my driver to come pick us up, we had couple of the famous vada pavs, and I had a lot of mirchi so I had to go running home for water while the two slowly paced their way home. At about 3 pm the driver arrived and we finally made our way back home, as archana and I slept in the car aditee the group photographer took pics with my N72, we dropped archana at RK studios and we both got off at our respective homes by the way I forgot to add the thing about archanas phone, it was drenched in water when we went to the dam and so it kept calling someone or the other on its own sooner we said it was possessed like the way Emily rose was and also asked her if it was dialing 1 2 3 4 5 6. The night came and I started this blog, the trip was fun and one of the most memorable and exciting ones I have had up till now. Oh yeah another thing I have pledged I shall quit Boozing after the whole fiasco for people who don’t believe me I have it in writing.

Fantastic 4:Rise of the silver surfer

I am not much into action movies to be frank,I like the feel good genre. But today I saw fantastic 4 rise of the silver surfer, this movie captured my senses I couldnt believe anything better than this. The director has an incredible imagination.
The movie starts with the 4 having a good time being endorsed by popular companies. Theres a wild craze about Mr fantastic marrying his beloved invisible woman, unfortunately she is not too happy about his work or rather about him being a workaholic him jabbing his fingers on his PDA. The entire town is excited about them but theres something wrong in the universe, theres this wierd comet kind of a thing which has been thrown into our earths atmosphere traveling 100,000 miles per hour, anyway so now its in the earths atmosphere and where ever it travels it causes these absurd things to happen, talk about the piramids of giza being covered with snow!!!
So the worlds in trouble and also this commander who by the way acts like hes got a stick up his ass calls Reed to build this high tech machine to track whatever this thing is,and susan storm has her wedding jitters, guess what this comet like thing strikes new york when they are about to be bound in holy matrimony. So now the F4 are in action with human torch behind the comet.
after a long chase he comes face to face with this dude on a surfing board, and something abnormal happens to him he now can exchange his powers with the rest of his clan so hes all freaked out about it, although ben (The Thing) seems to be very happy about it.
While our heros are working on tracking our surfer, the villians had a personal encounter with him (oh ya he didnt die) during his encounter with the shiny thing he gets shot by him which somehow heals him which turns him back to the way he was. Now Mr hector has taken a video of the surfer and realises that his powers come from his board,so he tells the commander and heros about his discovery telling them all about him helping them because the worlds at stack(but we all know that it isnt all that is there to it). So the Reed manages to build this radiation emiting machine to seperate the silver surfer from the board and they manage to do that and the guy who by the way is 'norman' thats his name is taken under arrest, Susan somehow reminds him of his love and she convinces him to tell her about his mission to destroy planets on his masters orders. So hes not a bad guy after all, tells them about this bad force thats worse than him that is comining towards earth to eat it up(awesome graphics gotta see it to believe it) and only he can stop it only if he gets his board which by the way is now with hector.
But the F4 are on it, Mr fanastic calls in this super fantastic flying machine for the chase. But times running out the dark force is on its way to feed on earths energy and organic matter. Finally the human torch manages to acquire the board hurling hector into the indian ocean and the silver surfer gets on his board to fight his master. The way this bit is shown it completely grips you. Finally the worlds saved and Reed and Susan are back to get married....
There you go that was fantastic 4 for you go watch it and post in your comments....

That so called why me

You know a person has to walk across that knife edge at least once in his life time .It seems as if I just miss that one step I ll have a big fall but if I continue walking on that knife it hurts real bad. And then if I keep going further the edge becomes thinner and I feel that the pain will deepen, it’ll worsen and the traces will remain, these traces will tear me apart from my friends, my family and whoever I care about.
This kind of pain to endure is beyond my capacitance, but I feel I am driving myself crazy by living on self pity and denial.
To feel what I feel too hear what I hear to see what I see would be accepted if I was born in another situation, it would have been understood, it would have been justified it would have been supported, but nevertheless its my fault, to be what I am, maybe acceptance is what I search maybe answers are next. Why and how, that’s what comes to my mind, this godforsaken sickness in my mind to be driven away, for I can give it time, time for this scar to heal to dry then to whether away.

Is it ok to be different, not every apple from the orchard looks the same maybe it’ll be big or it might be small or it must be the shiniest of the lot, or it might be just this rotten piece of nothing. We all are different but can this difference be categorized into normal and abnormal, what defines these two, and when does this abnormality become extraordinary, sometimes this so called abnormality can be the greatest weapon that the individual has. The things that we teens term ‘wierd’ is possessed by the individual for some purpose I believe it has some mission.
Its always seen that this abnormality is usually feared if its unknown, or un witnessed but why don’t people understand what that individual fears, his fear is that his abnormality will be witnessed it’ll be disclosed and he will be hated. All I know is that I am not perfect and to be perfect it’ll be unreal, and being unreal is abnormal.
All I spoke about was the fear and the anxiousness, the uncertainty that one faces when he realizes his abnormality.
This has phases first is that of denial, then its that of pain and sorrow, then theres loneliness, then there’s the self acceptance, then there is release also termed as ‘coming out of the closet’, then it ends with the step of acceptance by your family, your friends, and then the mass. It takes time, everything needs to be mature for good taste, some even die in the process of removing that tag of abnormality, and the other lucky ones are accepted.
I wish all the best to those who agree and also to those who term them as a taboo as indeed they believe in what they do.
Try to respect yourself and also accept yourself, or else all you will land doing is hurt yourself.
(this blog was inspired by a show I saw recently on various so called abnormalities like homosexuality, dyslexia, anorexia, autism etc )
